Jev on OpenRouter: model ID, endpoints, and price

OpenRouter lists TypeSafe’s Jev as typesafe/jev-1.13. It is a decision model, not a chat model, so it runs on OpenRouter’s Decisions and System One endpoints instead of chat completions. Here is the ID, both endpoints, and a working request.

01

Two OpenRouter endpoints for Jev

OpenRouter exposes Jev on two API surfaces with the same key and the same billing. The Decisions API is OpenRouter’s own shape and works with its TypeScript, Python, and Go SDKs. The System One API mirrors TypeSafe’s endpoint, so the official TypeSafe SDKs can switch by changing the base URL.

  • Decisions API: POST https://openrouter.ai/api/alpha/decisions
  • System One API: POST https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/systemone
  • Model: typesafe/jev-1.13 (alias ~typesafe/jev-latest)
  • Price: $0.042 / 1M input tokens, output free; 32K context

A first call

The body is the same state-plus-questions object as TypeSafe’s API. Each question is a choice, score, or noul, and answers come back keyed by your question names.

curl https://openrouter.ai/api/alpha/decisions \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $OPENROUTER_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "typesafe/jev-1.13",
    "state": "My checkout page shows a blank screen after I click Pay.",
    "questions": {
      "is_bug": { "type": "noul", "instructions": "Is this a software defect?" },
      "team": { "type": "choice", "instructions": "Which team owns this?",
        "criteria": { "payments": "Checkout or billing", "frontend": "UI or browser" } }
    }
  }'

OpenRouter, TypeSafe, or jevmodel.org?

OpenRouter makes sense if you already have OpenRouter credits and want one bill across models. TypeSafe direct gives you the official console and version pins. jevmodel.org is for trying Jev in a browser playground and shipping with one key and prepaid packs from $9.90, without opening another vendor account.

All three take the same questions, so you can prototype in the playground and move the request body unchanged.

FAQ

What is the Jev model ID on OpenRouter?

typesafe/jev-1.13. OpenRouter also documents a ~typesafe/jev-latest alias that tracks the newest release. Pin the versioned ID if you tune thresholds.

Can I call Jev with the OpenAI SDK on OpenRouter?

No. Jev does not generate text, so it is not served on the chat completions endpoint. Use the Decisions API (POST https://openrouter.ai/api/alpha/decisions) or the System One API (POST https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/systemone).

How much does Jev cost on OpenRouter?

The model page lists $0.042 per million input tokens and $0 for output — the same list price as TypeSafe direct — billed to your OpenRouter account.

Do I need a TypeSafe account to use Jev on OpenRouter?

No. An OpenRouter API key is enough; requests are forwarded to TypeSafe as the single provider. If you have neither account, jevmodel.org gives 100,000 free input tokens at sign-in and its own key.

What is the context length of Jev on OpenRouter?

32,000 tokens for state plus questions, according to the OpenRouter model page. Jev 1.13 was listed there on 18 September 2026.
