Jev is TypeSafe AI’s first System One model. You send application state plus typed questions; it returns a choice, a score, or a yes/no probability your software can branch on. It does not write prose, code, or explanations.

What is Jev AI / the Jev model?

Jev AI is the public name for TypeSafe’s hosted decision model, currently published as jev-1.13.0 with aliases jev-latest and jev-preview. It is built for routing, triage, scoring, and gating inside software, not for chat.

No. Jev is a closed, hosted API. TypeSafe has not released the weights. Laya (github.com/NandhaKishorM/laya, Apache 2.0) is an independent open-weight System One model with a similar choice/score/noul interface — it is not Jev.

No unlimited free tier. TypeSafe Console includes a $5.00 monthly credit, and jevmodel.org adds 10,000 free input tokens in the Playground (100,000 after sign-in). Input is $0.042 per million tokens and output is free.

How do I get access to Jev?

Start in the jevmodel.org Playground, sign in, create an API key in Dashboard, and POST to https://jevmodel.org/v1/systemone. TypeSafe and Vercel AI Gateway remain alternative access paths.

Is the Jev API open to everyone?

Yes. Sign-up on typesafe.ai is open — the earlier waitlist has been removed — and the Console includes Playground access and key creation. jevmodel.org serves the same request shape with its own keys. Opening the API is not the same as releasing the model weights.

Can Jev generate text?

No. TypeSafe documents that jev-1.13 is not trained to generate text. Use Jev for the branch, then a general LLM if a person needs a written reply.
